Honour Guard?

It is such a good thing that the Honour Guard is around to protect Bod and others, but I'm kinda curious as to what exactly it is. They protect people of course, but what else do they do? It is composed of four creatures, all of them different. The ghosts from the other graveyard Bod once visited seemed to be highly impressed with it. I guess I'm just curious as to why Gaiman didn't talk more of it. Why do you think he didn't tell us more about it?

    I think he wants us to make the Honour Guards out how we think they would be.But i would have liked him to give us more information on them.

    I thought of the Honour Guard as some massive attempt to thwart evil but when it is told that there are only four members I am shocked. They are supposed to be fighting the Jack of all trades with only four members; seems impossible. I don't think that was a highly developed idea in the book. If their is a sequel it should involve the reforming of the Honour guard. Good thinking!
